Family Day in Ottawa, 2013 edition!

Looking for a great way to spend Family Day this year? On February 18th, why not check out some of the great activities happening right here in our own backyards!

Centrally located?

The quaint Bytown Museum is both centrally located and full of educational family fun! They’ll be celebrating the day by hosting a Create Your Own Timberstamp logo workshop! Admission is $15 for families (two adults and children under 18) and free for children under 5!

After the museum, trek on over to the National Gallery for Artissimo! You can explore the gallery’s collection, try on costumes or use a feely box to challenge your sense of touch! Budding architects will be sure to check out the wooden blocks in the Great Hall.  The activities are free with museum admission, and Under 12s get in for free!

The NAC Family Day Festivities are for children aged 5+ and include stories, games, interactive displays, and special workshops. Inspire your crafty little ones from 12-4pm in the NAC Lobby with this fun, FREE activity day!

Speaking of free- Have you been to the Rink of Dreams at City Hall? Skate with Mayor Jim Watson and special guests at the Family Day Skating Party on February 18th from 11-2pm located in Marion Dewar Plaza.

Join in the rock climbing, jousting and obstacle courses or learn how to perform magic tricks and juggling feats! The show runs from 9 to 5 and is $19.99 per ticket, or $75 for a family of 4.

Further afield?

The Diefenbunker is hosting a Winter Scavenger hunt for budding super sleuths! Search for clues and cracks codes as you hunt for a missing artifact in the depths of the bunker.
